What this covers
This policy explains how Chigwell Removals (the "we") collects, uses, and stores personal information about people who fill in the quote form, request a survey, or become customers. We operate in compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- Information you give us in the quote form: full name, email address, phone number, pickup address, drop-off address, an optional move date, and any notes you choose to share.
- Communications you send us afterwards: emails, phone-call notes, survey notes, customs-paperwork drafts.
- Technical information necessary for site operation: server logs, analytics, anti-spam data (recaptcha).
How we use it
- To prepare a written quote in response to your form submission.
- To coordinate the move itself — surveys, packing schedules, customs paperwork, destination-side communication.
- To follow up on a finished move where useful.
- To prevent fraudulent submissions and protect the site (recaptcha).
Who we share it with
We share what is strictly necessary with the operators involved in your move: customs brokers on the destination side, ferry/Eurotunnel booking partners, receiving agents, packing-crew members, gated-community concierges or resort management at the destination. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone. We do not share it for marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
Quote-only enquiries are kept for as long as the conversation is active, plus a short follow-up window after. Customer records are kept for the duration of legal obligation (claims, insurance, accounting). We delete records when their purpose is complete and the retention period has elapsed.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights to access, correct, restrict, port, and delete your personal information. Email hello@chigwell-removals.co.uk to exercise any of them.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
